I have to start somewhere, so let’s start here: Why? What is the point of this site?

You ask a phenomenal question. So good I wish I had come up with it myself. I think the answer is a few things, and because, as my mother likes to say, "Joshua, you talk in paragraphs" - I'll explain.

CLIMATE - Climate data suggests that temperatures on Earth are rising and they are rising very fast.

Here is a graph from climate.gov that shows our situation. You know how when an oven pre-heats.

We should do our part to help slow that down. For more on why the temperature rising is a bad thing, click on these words.

ANIMALS - Scientists predict that more than 1 million species are on track for extinction in the coming decades. There is enormous evidence that describes the reason why losing species to extinction is very bad for humans, but also it makes our world less interesting. I don't want that. Look at this Amur Leopard, I don't know this Amur Leopard but I do know that he is the most important cat in the history of my life. Not scientifically, but to my heart. There are only about 60 Amur Leopards left. And based on cuteness, there should be 1 billion.

LIFESTYLE - I want to live a life that doesn't come at a cost to the other animals I share this planet with. You might not feel the same way, and I won't tell you that's wrong (I will strongly suggest you try to care about other animals. Feels kind of heartless, no? I mean yeesh, not caring at all? How'd you even make it this far down the article?).

The way we live can make a real difference, but only if we make slow, but steady, adjustments to make our lives a little more sustainable, our worlds a little bit fuller, and make our lives a bit more impactful.

⬆That right there is it. That is the why⬆ I could have saved you 5 minutes and said that at the start. But aren’t you glad you kept reading to see the Leopard.

Let's make small, realistic changes and see if we can leave this place a little better than we found it.
