Hey there!
Here is this week's edition of the Conservationist Content Newsletter.

2 Things in this week's Nat-News:

*Nat-News is the cool way to say Nature News. But in like, millennial speak. We shorten words. That's kind of our thing.

1️⃣ Drones and live-streams: How tech is changing conservation

Link: BBC//Full Story

Too long, didn't read: The planet's wildlife population has dropped by 68% since 1970, which is just heartbreaking. One of the main culprits is poaching. But in Kruger National Park in South Africa, they are starting a pilot program to help combat the problem. The new program created the chance for everyday folks to "to report suspicious activity - things like seeing fence lines cut or hearing gunshots - and alert rangers to the possibility of poachers and trapped animals needing rescue." All just by sitting on the phone, watching from an app.

2️⃣ New NASA Earth System Observatory to Help Address, Mitigate Climate Change

Link: NASA//Full Story

Too long, didn't read: NASA is, famously, obsessed with outer space. They put people on the moon and have space stations where people live there for months at a time doing research on the things happening millions of miles away from our little rock of a planet. But now the administration will turn some of its work back at theplanet to help give us some models to help with climate change. NASA will now have a whole new set of Earth-focused missions, "to create a 3D, holistic view of Earth, from bedrock to atmosphere."

2 ideas from me:

1️⃣ A little over a week ago I shared on Insta some easy ways to switch to more sustainable household items. At the risk of sounding like a car insurance commercial... Switch today! Click these words to see the Instagram post

2️⃣ It's Memorial Day weekend! Check out this list of veggie alternatives to try and make so that it's not *only* burgers and hot dogs this weekend. Link here

2 things to celebrate in climate news:

1️⃣ Shell lost. Big time. A Dutch court ruled that gasoline goliath Shell must cut its carbon dioxide emissions by 45% by the year 2030.

2️⃣ 61% of the stockholders in Chevron voted to reduce the company's emissions. Chevron is the second largest carbon emitter amongst fossil fuel companies.

Thanks for making it this far down the page, I appreciate you,

- Josh
